Moderation Policy
‘Moderation’ is the practice of:
- Facilitating online discussions to ensure that everyone can take part in the conversation, get their views across and that the engagement meets its objectives
- Maintaining the flow of the discussion by checking all posts in relation to the terms and conditions of the site.
A selection of external facilitators have been chosen to regularly visit the forum discussions and where appropriate submit posts to encourage discussion.
This forum will be facilitated by:
- Roanne Dods, Co-director of Mission Models Money, dancer and former Director of Jerwood Charitable Foundation (facilitating Creative Practitioner)
- Lucy Mason, freelance arts management consultant. Previously Chief Executive of Dance Base, Scotland's National Centre for Dance and Administrative Producer of Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre. From 2007 - 2009, Performing Arts Advisor to the Scottish Government (facilitating Accessibility)
- Katrina McPherson and Simon Fildes, independent media artists (facilitating Participation)
- Marc Lambert, CEO Scottish Book Trust (facilitating International)
The facilitators always aim to be fair and objective. Facilitators are concerned with the quality of the discussion, not the interests of one individual, group or idea over another. They are responsible for ensuring that the forum discussion rules are respected and reserve the right to remove inappropriate posts and comments at any time.
